BYOU Magazine Single Copy Peyton List: November/December 2013 Issue
Friendship, kindness, and empowerment are themes that I work on all year.  Since I started middle school, these topics haven’t changed, so I am always looking for ideas to keep these topics fresh.

I was lucky enough to be given the chance to review BYOU magazine.  It’s a great resource, and I am glad that I was able to look it over.

I shared the magazine with my 5th and 6th grade lunch bunch.  It led us into a great discussion of what is good versus bad popularity and why people believe popularity is important.  I am proud to say that they believe it isn’t important to be popular.  What a great discussion we had.

Believing in yourself, being able to love yourself, being kind to others, and being bully free are the main themes of BYOU.  If I was to put together a magazine, and share it with girls, it would be this one.  I have a sign out sheet going for my copy, and the list is growing in size.  It’s great to leave in your office for students to look at, as well as for ideas for counseling lessons.
