Test Taking and Study Skills Bingo

I have been working on study skills with a group of 7th and 8th graders that I meet with weekly.  I look over their homework completion for the week and either reward them with a trip to the snack bar or “yell” at them for not doing their work.  OK, so it’s not really “yelling” but they know I am looking for their best work and nothing less.  We’ve grown to be buddies, and the group of boys often seek me out to pull up their grades and check over their assignments.  I think they like that I spend the 5 minutes to talk about THEM.

I wanted to do something fun with them.  I love BINGO and it is definitely the rage in counseling games.  I looked at BINGO games in catalogs, but they were over my budget.  I decided to make my own, and after weeks of research, and hours of time, I came up with this:

I even aligned it to ASCA standards.  This has been a goal of mine this year; to develop lesson plans and match them up to standards.   So here they are:

The kids really had a good time playing.
