My 2015-2016 School Counselor Binder and School Counseling Program

I have been working on my 2015-2016 School Counseling Calendar.  I want to make sure that my year is planned, that I am meeting my counseling goals, and that I can keep organized all that I have to do.

I start with my counseling goals that I set up with my SC Advisory Committee.  My goals for the school year, are very much like last year, although we have altered them slightly.

My yearly goals are:

  1. Decrease the number of students with greater than 10 absences from 73 students in  the 2014-2015 school year to 50 students in  the 2015-2016 school year.
  2. Decrease the number of discipline referrals for the class of 2022 to CPR from 23 in the 2014-2015 to 15 in 2015-2016.
  3. Decrease the number of students in grade 8 who are failing core courses in marking period 1 from 17 (will need to gather this info–this is last year’s number) to 10 in marking period 4 for the 2015-2016 school year.

In addition, I want to make sure that each month I have outreach to parents, students, and staff.  I will use my monthly calendar to keep track and plan for this.

I then have a weekly checklist and weekly calendar that I use to keep track of what I’m doing and need to accomplish for the week.

I also add pages for a phone log and important contact numbers plus a password keeper.

The best part is, taking my pages to Staples and then having them spiral bound with a plastic cover.  For little money, I have a professional looking binder.
