Cyber Smarts

Cyber Safety  and Social Media has been a big thing at our school lately.  I don’t think our school is the only one dealing with “how do we teach kids about internet safety?”  It’s a growing trend around the country and I’m reading new articles every day about how to be internet safe.

I’ve been working with our health teacher to put together some lessons about Being Cyber Smart.  We’re anxious to teach this to all our 8th graders.

I made discussion cards use real life cyber issues.  Many are issues our students are talking about, so I know these will hit home.  I’m going to start the classes off with a pretest about their cyber smarts, go over safety tips and vocabulary related to internet safety and then provide them with Cyber Dangerous situations that I want them to correct using their Cyber Smarts.

I also created a Cyber Smarts BINGO game to reinforce the concepts.

We also have already hung up these posters I made:

You can find both of these items online on my TpT Store:
Let me know what you think of them.
